More allies for the environment

The New York Times had an interesting article on growing environmentalism among Christian evangelists. They're focusing recently on global warming, which is very related to our mission of land use protection, and on protecting the Endangered Species Act from attack, also a concern of ours.

Religious issues and controversies are very far away from our area of expertise, but if people's value system leads them to support the environment, we're glad to hear it.

  1. Really interesting Times article. Thanks for the link. I believe that evangelicals who are really sincere in their beliefs have a great potential to be supporters and effective advocates for a variety of positions that have been the province of environmentalists and progressives and liberals.

In any case the link is worth checking out for the giggle factor alone:

"You can always find in Scriptures a passage to misquote for almost anything," Mr. Inhofe said in an interview, dismissing the position of Mr. Cizik's association as "something very strange."

Why, yes, Mr. Inhofe, you can!

    What a wanker!
